We had perfect weather on the 4th of July in downtown Freeport. With our location right on Main Street, Nicholson Inn guests had front “porch” seats to all the festivities. The temperature was in the high 70’s, low humidity and tons of sun and blue skies.

The parade comes right to our corner on Main Street, then turns onto Holbrook so our lawn area gets the full view.

And while our guests went to area restaurants to enjoy the local cuisine, we had a cookout. Four freshly caught lobsters, early summer sweet corn, local clams, and a handful of spicy creole sausage on the grill. Perfectly paired with some chilled Sauvignon Blanc and local IPAs made for a perfect lobster-fest.
Splitting the lobsters before grilling allows the flavor of the flame and charred shells to infuse the meat.

Freeport hosts three parades each year–this one, Memorial Day and the big one kicking off the Holidays’ Sparkle Celebration. So whatever the season, our corner lot location on Main Street is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the fun.
